Information available on this web site is collected, maintained, and provided solely for the convenience of the public users. Provides South Carolina Archives a microfilmed duplicate of all records for security as required by law. A mesne conveyance is an intermediate transfer; it occupies an intermediate position in a chain of title between the first grantee and the present holder. The ROD records deeds, mortgages, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), Tax Liens, plats, and other documents according to the South Carolina Code of Laws and records Federal Tax Liens according to Federal guidelines. The Register of Deeds exists as a separate governmental office in 23 counties in South Carolina. Some records of real estate transactions date back to the 1670s (however not in Georgetown County). Includes links to online forms, property searches, and directions for how to look up SC deeds. At the Richland County Register of Deeds Division, we’re committed to providing easy access to real estate records and other important public documents. Maintain your personal information, update beneficiaries and use the Retirement Calculator to see where you stand in your retirement journey. The Register of Deeds must assure that all recorded documents comply with the requirements of federal and state recording statutes and are available for public review.
